About Our profile/Concept of Our website

Hello, we are the author’s team.

In this page, we would like to briefly introduce the concept of this website and the background of our interview team. While there may be some vague areas, we hope you will kindly watch over us.

Concept of this website

This website has two main concepts:

  1. Introducing the hidden side of Japan that tourist guides often overlook.
  2. Recording and sharing aspects of “Japan from a different perspective” that make people curious and eager to visit.

While these concepts may appear similar, there are subtle differences that I would like to explain here.

The first concept is quite straightforward. If you look at tourist guides, you’ll notice that they mainly showcase beautiful landscapes and delicious food. However, it’s important to remember that not everything in the world is made up of beautiful things. Decaying local supermarkets, overcrowded city subways, unnoticed monuments… I’m sure you can think of at least one example.

Unfortunately, such things are not featured in tourist guides because there seems to be no purpose in including them. Who would visit such places? It’s not the kind of content that attracts tourists, so they are overlooked and not highlighted by those guides.

In the past, there was little we could do about the many things in such unfortunate conditions. The only thing we could do was watch them disappear.

However, now we have the opportunity to freely share what has happened to those items and discuss what can be done about them. In the midst of that, I asked myself how I should approach this situation. After much consideration, I found the answer in starting a blog. I thought that if I could share the “ordinary landscapes” that have disappeared without a trace, it would be meaningful.

Through this website, we aim to present a different perspective on Japan, showcasing both its remarkable and overlooked aspects. We appreciate your support as we embark on this journey.

I apologize for the lengthy explanation, but let’s move on to the second concept, which might be a bit unclear.

In recent times, we have gained access to various information sources on the internet, in addition to the traditional media outlets. We can extract the necessary information from the abundance of available data and adjust our lives accordingly.

But what about travel? Nowadays, travel plans through online platforms have become widely popular. However, the information provided in those plans tends to be repetitive. You can find statements like “Sapporo is famous for its Clock Tower and its beautiful sceneries” everywhere. But what about the current situation in Sapporo? What’s happening behind the scenes in the streets? None of that is mentioned. To obtain such information, you have to sift through a vast amount of “tourist guide” data, which can be quite a challenging.

We wanted to solve this challenge and provide a solution. By visiting our website, you can access new information that you may not have known before. We aim to offer a different perspective on tourism, something that you won’t find in traditional tourist guides. We continue our activities every day with the goal of providing an experience that goes beyond the usual. We may make mistakes, provide incorrect information and translate wrongfully many times, but we appreciate your support and understanding. Thank you very much.

About Us

Hello, everyone! I’m Rat, the author of this website. Actually, there’s one more person who manages the site, but we call ourselves “Our Team” even though it’s mostly just me running things haha.

I developed an interest in this niche hobby during my high school years when I started researching the department store “Sogo”(One of the most famous department store in Japan). When the “Sogo stores that I had been relying on since I was a child, including the one near me called “Kure Sogo,” closed one after another, I delved deep into understanding what happened to Sogo.” That’s when I became completely fascinated with this world.

The reason I started this blog was due to COVID-19 that led to restrictions on going out. Unable to go outside and with a lot of free time on my hands, I wanted to do something meaningful, and that’s how I ended up starting a blog (although I used to run a different blog before. If you search for it, you’ll find it, but please don’t do that).

I’m still young and there are areas where my knowledge is lacking, but I take my writing seriously. I would be grateful if you could warmly support me.

If you have any opinions, requests, job offers, or places you’d like me to cover for an interview, please feel free to contact me through the contact page on this site. Regarding compensation for work, we can discuss it further. However, please note that I am based in Japan and may not be able to accommodate interview requests from distant locations. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

Thank you for reading so much and have a good trip!!
